Noam Shomron in Chile: Science that Anticipates the Future

Professor Noam Shomron is a visionary leader who leverages basic science, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data to innovate within the healthcare sector. Trained at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, he currently heads the Functional Genomics Team at Tel Aviv University’s Gray Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences.

“With an impressive track record including over 200 scientific publications and dozens of patents, Professor Shomron has spearheaded significant advancements in genomics and medicine. His research has demonstrated the potential of machine learning to predict mortality risks, identify early signs of cancer through rapid sequencing, and enable non-invasive embryonic DNA analysis.

Beyond his role as Editor of the book ‘Deep Sequencing Data Analysis’ and Director of key organizations like ‘Rare-Genomics’ Israel, the Djerassi Institute of Oncology, and ‘ScienceAbroad’, he’s a co-founder of multiple biotechnology and digital medicine companies (such as Variantyx, GotSho, IdentifAI, and Everly Bio). He has also been instrumental in co-developing innovative master’s programs at Tel Aviv University, including the International MSc in Digital Medical.
