Conference: “Trust and Collaboration: The Foundation of Impact from Science”
“Trust is the currency of science in modern society.”
This powerful statement by Peter Gluckman, President of the International Science Council, encapsulates the heart of the conversation we had at the International Seminar #LabtoMarket2025: High-Impact Science and Entrepreneurship, organized by the UC Anacleto Angelini Innovation Center.
I had the honor of delivering the talk “Trust and Collaboration: The Foundation of Impact from Science,” where we explored a key truth:
👉 The true engine for implementing scientific knowledge in our lives is not just the quality of the science itself, but the trust between those who create, apply, and receive that knowledge—scientists, policymakers, and the public.
We are facing a crisis of trust: interpersonal, institutional, in the media, and in politics. This directly affects our ability to collaborate, innovate, and build the future.
Examples of this crisis abound. Such as the letter published this past March 31st, in which over 1,900 scientists—elected members of the U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine—issued a public SOS to the American public and government. They warned of an “all-out assault” on science in the country, citing massive research cuts, dismissals of federal scientific personnel, censorship in areas like climate change and vaccines, and a climate of fear that is undermining scientific independence and jeopardizing public health, innovation, and the global standing of the United States.
That is why this talk connects with other fundamental conversations for leading and generating impact in times of uncertainty.
🌐 Global Trust: How this intangible asset influences trade, innovation, and international competitiveness.
🌍 Intercultural Business Intelligence: How to adapt to new cultures and build trust in diverse markets.
🎙️ Strategic Public Narrative: How to communicate with authenticity to inspire and build credibility in uncertain contexts.
🤝 Innovation Ecosystems: Keys to successful innovative mindsets.
Thank you to the team at the UC Anacleto Angelini Innovation Center for trusting that I can inspire conversations of this level and quality. And to all who participated for joining this much-needed space for exchange.
✨ Do these topics resonate with you?
If your organization is looking to strengthen trust, collaboration, and a strategic vision for today’s challenges, let’s talk.
I would love to share this talk with more teams and communities that are building the future from science, innovation, and cooperation.
